The game is very good, no clutter, no pixel hunting. Simple, but logical and rewarding puzzles mixed with good story and great voice acting. 7 hours. Well worth the price. I recommend!. Couldn't put it down. Really captures the classic point and click adventure games that I love, but with some unique sci-fi mechanics to shake up genre tropes a little bit.. Terrific Game at its core: first up please don't concern yourself with the length of the game - it is quite perfect if you do all the dialogues, figure out the puzzles on your own, and read everything in each scene. The mood of the game is its strength. The world is that post-apocalyptic/sci-fi scenario but feels quite realistic for those that have come out the other end and society is rebuilding. The music underpins this by being upbeat and yet not distracting, adding a new theme for every scene. The voice acting is top notch and the text on screen is free of errors (well done in this decade). But above all the story shines through being very addictive across 4 chapters with decisions that will cause consequences throughout. For 8 hours the puzzles were blended into the story very seamlessly and whilst some may say 'easy' they just feel suited rather than 'here's a slide puzzle now for no reason'. This is classic adventure gaming where story and characters are key, with inventory management being important but not the only factor in progressing the game. Loved Kathy Rain and now Whispers of a Machine is a very worthy new adventure. Well done. Wow really epic stuff. Great story and voice acting! Good puzzles, they were not very challenging for us (we were two people) but perhaps could have been in solo play. A really good game and well worth the price.. An enjoyable little classic style point and click adventure.All the puzzles make sense logically, though I did have trouble working out what to use a specific thing on at one point that had me wandering back and forth like an idiot for 20 minutes.The worldbuilding is fantastic (Calling it cyberpunk isn't really accurate, given the world is specifically intentionally regressed in technology. It's kind of its own thing, post-apocalyptic solarpunk?) My only complaint would be that some of it isn't explored in more depth.. I grew up on games like Kings Quest and have always enjoyed a good point and click game. It seems that quite a few of these types of games have been coming out recently and a lot of them are high quality. If you have played Primordia, Unforseen Incidents, and other newer offerings to this genre this game continues the trend of excellency. The important things you want to know-The puzzles are great. No ridiculous logic leaps needed and you are rewarded for having a keen eye to detail. Very thoughtful puzzle design. -The voice acing is excellent. The characters all have a unique personality which helps to create a world that is interesting to explore. I haven't found myself skipping through conversations and this also comes back to the previous point. -The animations are just right. Really fits the genre quite well and hits a bit of nostalgia for me. If you're looking for a fun point and click game, and one that doesn't allow you to get frustrated I highly recommend Whispers of a Machine.
